I notice a weird pattern in my blogging. I blog for a few weeks, and then life shifts and I go weeks without blogging. So, I haven’t blogged in about 3 weeks. Since then, I’ve…

1. Moved into the dorms at Georgia State University.

2. Chartered a campus ministry.

3. Designed some of everything.

Explain #1:

My main goal for moving back into the dorms was because I felt that God was challenging me & convicting me all summer about the realization that so many college students are lost or either being led astray, and there’s a greater need for laborers out in the fields of these college campuses. So I’ve answered the call. Now mind you, I don’t know what the heck I’m doing. I got a passion, a vision, and I’m pissed the hell off at seeing this generation bound by the lies of the world.So please pray for me and other students who are answering the call across America and the world.

Explain #2:

I am currently a student leader for the Outlet College Ministry of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. I’ve been working hard over the summer with the college director and a few other leaders in the ministry to really ask the tough questions and to seek for the tough answers on how to effectively spread the Gospel and see college students no longer conforming to the world, but being transformed by the renewing of their minds to the truth of Jesus Christ [Romans 12:2 - my favorite scripture of the Bible]. We’re in the process of getting chartered on campus so that we can legally “take over”. I’ve also been strategically mapping out a plan on how to be effective on a diverse campus like Georgia State University. I’m praying for wisdom and boldness this year.

Explain #3:

I’ve designed everything from flyers, business cards, CD wallets, book covers, salvation cards, wallpapers, logos, and a bunch of other stuff that I never completed. I’ve been freelance designing for about 6 months now, and I’m seeing substantial improvement in my skills. I wouldn’t consider myself a designer; I’m more of a visionary who knows how to create a product that appeals to a particular audience… LOL.

There you have it. That’s my life update.

I’ve met quite a few unique people since I’ve been blogging. I thought I’d take the time to acknowledge some of them. Some of these people are influential leaders, bloggers, writers, pastors, authors, designers, entrepreneurs, visionaries, and catalysts of our time. It has been an honor to call some of these people friends. So let’s get the list rollin’… [...more]

I stumbled upon this prayer by Sir Francis Drake during the year of 1577, and it rocked my world! Though more than 4 centuries old, these words still ring truth and relevance today. May you and I be so disturbed that we are challenged to forsake ourselves for the sake of the Gospel.

In the words of Sir Francis Drake from 1577:

“Disturb us, Lord, when we are too well pleased with ourselves,
When our dreams have come true
Because we have dreamed too little,
When we arrived safely
Because we sailed too close to the shore.

Disturb us, Lord, when
With the abundance of things we possess
We have lost our thirst
For the waters of life;
Having fallen in love with life,
We have ceased to dream of eternity
And in our efforts to build a new earth,
We have allowed our vision
Of the new Heaven to dim.

Disturb us, Lord, to dare more boldly,
To venture on wider seas
Where storms will show your mastery;
Where losing sight of land,
We shall find the stars.
We ask You to push back
The horizons of our hopes;
And to push into the future
In strength, courage, hope, and love.”
