Will YOU Be Ready?
“Will YOU Be Ready?”
We are living in strange times… violence, murders, warfare, poverty, disease, unexplainable weather conditions and storms, tension between nations, nuclear warheads everywhere. It’s crazy how we’re living and dwelling in the midst of a lost and dying generation that gets enjoyment or thrills out of sexual exploitation, seeing people suffer, money and greed, and other tangents. We’re lost and confused. There is no doubt that we’re living in the cliched times called the “Last Days”… I mean just look around! Check out the life of an average human being. Most people have no clue as to what’s really going on (not saying I do), we’re just living and some refuse to believe there’s a Heaven and a Hell and that everyone will one day stand face-to-face with death.
If I were to ask you do you think you’re a good person, most people would say yes. Most people think that they are Heaven-bound just because they feel that they’re a good person and somehow their deeds will get them into Heaven. Well let’s see. Ask yourself these few questions:
- Have you ever told a lie? If so, that makes you a liar.
- Have you ever stolen anything? If so, that makes you a thief.
- Have you ever looked at someone with lust (sexual desire)? If so, the Bible says you’re an adulterer at heart.
- Have you ever used God’s name in vain (cursed God’s name by saying God-d*mn)? If so, the Bible says you’re a blasphemer.
Here me out.
These are just four of the 10 commandments in the Bible. If you were judged only by these commandments; if God was to bring justice unto you based on you breaking any of these listed, would you go to Heaven or Hell? Honestly, whether we want to admit it or not, all of us (including me) have sinned and done some things that aren’t actually good or of good morals. Therefore, none of us are worthy of admission into Heaven. But think about it this way… Let’s say that you committed a crime like 7 years ago but you were never found guilty. Suddenly, evidence comes up and you are caught. No matter how much of a good person you’ve claimed to have been or how much you’ve improved in life between those 7 years, you would still be guilty and the Judge would have to bring justice to your wrongdoing. The Judge gives you a $70,000 fine or a lengthy jail sentence. You realize that there’s no way you will ever be able to come up with the money. Surprisingly, some guy in the court stands up and agrees to pay your fine. The Judge then says that if this man pays your fine you’re free to go (remember you’re still guilty, but someone else has agreed to pay the fine for you). How would you feel toward the man who offered to pay your fine which sets you free?
Well, that’s what Jesus Christ did for you two thousand and six years ago when He died on the cross for your sins. There are not enough good deeds you could ever do to erase your sins or get into Heaven. Yes, good deeds are expected of us as being people of good morals, but that would not be enough. The only way you can be delivered from your eternal sentencing to Hell is that you must confess and believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins/He paid your fine/ He paid the price for you and I. In the Bible in Romans 10:9 it says “that if YOU confess with YOUR mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in YOUR heart that God raised Him from the dead, YOU will be saved.”
You may think this is a joke… and for some it may be, but what if all this stuff IS real? What if Heaven and Hell IS real? Would you risk playing Russian-roulette with your life? Are you sure that you’re okay…you have it all together? Are you positive that you’re okay…that it’s a waste of time and effort? I would really ask you to consider Jesus Christ… try Him for yourself. Don’t risk your life because your life is like a coin and you can only spend it once, so be very careful how you spend it. Don’t regret not trying Christ in the end. God is waiting for you to try Him and see if He is real or not. It’s your choice, everyone has the opportunity. Whether you or I want to believe it or not, Jesus Christ is soon to come…. the question is “Will YOU Be Ready?”
